...to the growing list of chicken owners. 8)
Collected my 4 Copper Star pullets this afternoon.....one (now named Houdini) escaped the penning process and gave me the runaround for 2 hours. :-[
Pics to follow.
Good luck David. They sound prolific egg layers unlike mine ;D.
I'm sure that you'll have great fun!
One of our nightmares (as almost equally new chicken keepers) is that one of them escapes and wreaks havoc on someone else's allotment. So far, so good.
Good luck David. You are in for some fun, and lots of eggs I hope. I am looking forward to seeing your pics. My four ex bats have settled down quite well and are giving the whole family are lot of pleasure. Each one has a definite character and it is fascinating observing their little ways. all the best, busy_lizzie

Many thanks for you good wishes folks.
I'm afraid the pics may be slightly delayed.......the weather is fowl here today!!
Ha ha yes i remeber those first weeks of chasing them around, climbing trees to get them at dusk. Hooray for fruit netting .
Its a lovely time getting to know thier natures and feeling like theyve been there forever. and the first eggs brilliant.
Hope everyone settles down well.
There are some very good chicken forums i like the poultry garden, but there is also the poultry keeper for any questions and lots of poultry advice.
Happy days
