The Russians have agreed to build a rail tunnel under the Bering Straits, costing £60B.
It means in theory you could travel from Edinburgh, via London, Paris, Moscow, Yatusk, Nome, and then to either New York, or down the US east cost to San Francisco, and down through South America all the way to Valpariso entirely by train.
I quite fancy that, its a hell of journey, i guess it would take a good six weeks
