Star mine have been in flower through the summer.  I had them in pots over winter ready to flower for the spring, which they did beautifully.  Then I dug them up and planted them into the garden for the summer.  As soon as they picked up they where in flower again.  I'm not complaining but I hope that they are not too tired to do it again in the spring!

It's actually normal for primroses to flower in autumn providing that they have enough water and shade -- mine have done it for years.
No need to worry about them flowering next year - they will.

I think polyanthus are the same. Mine flowered beautifully in the spring, rested then pushed out another show during this summer. Amazingly (I thought) they are still at it.  :)
