Title: What to plant
Post by: tog on August 19, 2011, 13:45:09
I have space on my plot and was going to put some spuds in for Christmas but in view of reply on here, will not now do that.
What can I plant now to use the space. Mainly where summer cabbage and spuds have been.

Where spuds have been I would put winter cabbage or spring greens perhaps and winter green stuff.

Summer cabbage patch I think would be green manure.

Spinach can be sown now/soon and will crop until the frosts kill them off.
I'm just waiting a rain to arrive..living in hope  ::)..and then I can sow mine on spot where spuds just were.
And I'm still going to sow some turnips..and lettuce..and radishes. I've missed all that as its been like b***dy dessert here for months.

We use http://www.vegetableplantsdirect.co.uk/ who have quite a few things that you could plant now.
