has any one else had a good harvest using pound shop vege using their sets tubers seeds etc first time using them this year new shop in town i have used their potatoes onion sets spicy salad leave mix plus another mix forgotton the name plus peas and also my bargain dahlias is flowering well pleased with all
Poundland's Charlotte spuds and Red Baron sets both did as well or better than expected - may well be due to hot dry spring (especially the less than usual amount of white rot on onions) but nevertheless entirely satisfactory and 2-4 times cheaper than garden centre and 4-8 times cheaper than the big mailorder seedsmen.
Definitely my first choice next year.
Best summer onions and shallots ever
I've used them for a few years and had excellent results with everything. It goes without saying that I buy more than I need but at a quid a time it doesn't seem so bad.
Geoff.
yep I always have good results with them. I love the packs of 6 seed in 1. I've had some amazing poppies and sweet peas with them
I'm really glad everyone's enjoying their bargains, but why's this in Pests and Diseases? Is it to cheer us all up? ;D
ooooooooo sorry i was reading about onions etc in pests and diseases and for got to change topic, slap hand try not to make same mistake again ;D
Never mind, it's more cheering than talking about aphids and white rot ;D
used a lot of onion sets and grew well..
I used 99p shop onion sets and got a good crop. I'm trying them from seed this time, but I may well have some sets again as they were so good.
