Mary, have you got your filters or junk mail settings too high? ???  I know I have and no one gets through, ;D it is so full of cr*p emails >:(  I only turn the settings down if I know someone is emailing me and even then it may not work.
Try using a different supplier I have a couple of others for friends and family.
Hotmail is useful for sites that insist you have an email address, so I just toss that one in to keep em happy. 8)

google have a web based email now called g-mail.

You need an invite to set one up, my hubby has one so he probably will be able to invite you.

If you're not sure how to set up an account PM me and I could set one up for you.  I do think its as easy as following the onscreen instructions though.

So, PM me if you would like one with your current email address and I will get dh to send you an invite.

On a side note, ways to avoid getting spam is to not put your email address anywhere!  OK, so this isn't practicle, but never write your address on a forum post, if you have to write it concealed so: myname at something dot com where its obvious what it is, but an email harvester can't get it.

I use gmail and can give it the thumbs up too. Slightly different to Hotmail to start with, but once you get used to it it's better I think.

I have invites too, so if you want one, pm me.

The only spam I get is stuff I've asked for, through a promotional web site, so really 'junk' and not 'spam' I don't think I've had any of the spam you tend to get through hotmail.

I have had an account with Yahoo since 2000 and it's brilliant.  If anything cr@ppy turns up, I click on it and then onto SPAM.  And it disappears into oblivion.

You can also set filters to keep out most cr@p.  Good luck!

Simon,
I get (what I think is) very little Spam.  But I do not open it. I simply click the entry, then click SPAM.  And hey presto! Gone! ::) ;D
