Title: When is this ready to crop......
Post by: RenishawPhil on August 15, 2011, 11:09:50
I think this is purple sprouting, but tbh i am not so sure now, The other half planted them and couldnt remember what they are.  Plants grown rather big and the tender middle bits are geting to a useable size now.  Will the middle bit keep regrowing as i pinch them out?

Purple sprouting usually crops in early spring after being grown through the winter. However there are a couple of new varieties that crop in the same year as sown. It may be that you have one of these.
Moral of the story? Mmm, something to do with labels I think ;D

If they've got heads, use them.
