Title: Compost structure
Post by: Mr Smith on August 10, 2011, 12:47:47
The bottom layers in my raised beds are my own compost which I have topped up with top soil last week, would Fish/Bone meal also compliment the compost/soil structure for when I plant my next years Garlic in a couple of month, :)

It won't hurt... unless you have inquisitive  foxes who might grub around for it...  :-\

BFB won't help the structure but will increase the nutriuents available in the soil, especially nitrogen and Phosphate, bit low in potash though. Compost rarely has much nutrients in it unless prepared from specific sources 9comfrey for example) but does wonders for the soil structure once the worms have done their thing.... With garlic going in next month I'd suggest some chicken poo pellets adn maybe a bit of bonemeal, the BF bit of the BFB will likely wash out before it does any good right now adn garlic won't want lots of feed when it goes in...
