Title: Little Hitler?
Post by: Mark S on August 07, 2011, 22:08:26
So there I was earlier tonight, walking the dog in the local park, a nice area, very picturesque, allowing for the 15yr olds drinking scrumpy jack cider, and the boy racers tearing up the car park.

However, I was moaned at tonight by the Park Keeper for chopping down some stingers! Having used all the ones up in my garden, I knew I could get some from the park for some nettle feed.

Despite the park being full of McDonalds wrappers, cans of beer etc, I get moaned at for stealing and abusing Council property!!! I asked why he hadn't moved the kids on, despite it being an alcohol free zone. I asked if he had taken the car reg nos of the kids doing handbrake turns on the car park...to which he walked off, telling me that I would be prosecuted if he caught me again. Unreal or what??

Yep unreal :-X
Sometimes I wished I lived on an island.

I received a letter from a credit card company stating that as I haven't used my credit card in 6 months that they would cancel it......but if I called them before 9th of Sept I can avoid the card being cancelled. so I called them but the operator told me that because I have received a letter they will still cancel it on the 9th if I don't use the card ??? So I had to make a purchase using the card.

Oops! I hope he doesn't come round our way ;)

Like you I relieve the park of some of its nettles- on the assumption that no-one would mind ;D

Obviously you are an easier person to pick on than the other miscreants!!!!
I expect you replied politly whereas he would have had a mouthful from the kids ???

Just write 100 lines

"I must not steal nettles" ;)

Give it a couple of weeks, and I'll be there again, secateurs in hand, plastic bag ready, but on the lookout!!

I was polite, and as you say, being disabled, its easier to pick on me than some drunken teenagers.

Thanks about the thought of pinching the fish, hadn't thought of that one, lol!!!

I will not steal nettles, I will not steal nettles, I will not steal nettles, I will not steal nettles, I will not steal nettles, can't be bothered to Control-V anymore!!

Just because there are others breaking the law, does not give you the right do the same. They were not your nettles, you stole them.

Ace in fact works as a park warden...

;D
It's true, it's a grey area, but it would seem to require common sense - surely cutting down ornamental plants is wrong, but nettles? They are just a nuisance in a park. But suggest finding a bit of common or a patch of woodland where you can get your nettles without the bovver! I have some on the path to the allotments actually but I have never thought of actually cutting them. Maybe I should and get some nettle tea going...
