Hi. I'm trying to grow a few parsnips (literally half a dozen or so) for the first time. The plants have grown very quickly and far higher than I was expecting. However, one has now wilted and the leaves are yellow. Suspect this is not normal but I'd be grateful for confirmation and any advice.

Definitely not normal. parsnips are a winter veg which taste better after frost and wouldn't normally wilt until late winter, if at all. Not sure what would have caused this.No doubt someone here will know!

Thanks Caroline for your views and the warm welcome. I'm tempted to rip it out to prevent anything spreading - if its that sort of a problem - but will wait a bit for any further advice. Have a good weekend!
I would pull it out. parsnips are quite hardy when they are established.I know that they can be affected by carrot fly sometimes or canker but I have never had any of mine wilt.
