thats fantastic Tim, when are they going to let go solo again and show them how it used to be done.
I must also say im very envious of you the other veterans for getting to fly in such an iconic machine. :)
Wow Tim you are a game old guy, well only 90, I am very jealous, truly I am green with envy .I bet you enjoyed it

Wonderful pictures :)
Wonderful, thanks for posting :)
Thank you for posting the link and sharing this occasion with us. The pictures are fantastic, must have been great to be up there again, what memories it must bring.
Nice shots Tim, bet you felt like a youngster again, we had a Spitfire jacked up to zero in the guns on the armourer's course at Kirkham, in 1950 nearly burst your eardrums when they tested them.
It's good to see that you're still enjoying flying high now and again!
Youngster, pete??
Until you try clambering in!!
That was brilliant Tim, fantastic quality photos too.
Even got OH to come and have a look ;)
Wasn't clambering out worse than in ;)
Amazing! Thanks for sharing.
(Your life story would be well worth reading - ever thought about it, Tim? x)
Nice one Tim
In or out - equally hazardous!!
In or out - equally hazardous!!

Smart pictures there, Tim. You look right at home ;) Thanks for sharing.
On an almost different subject; today, very close to where I work, there was a Tornado jet having some maintenance done across a couple of fields on a runway. Holy bl**dy heck, I have NEVER heard anything so loud in my life! We all came running out of our offices to see what the devil was going on. I genuinely thought as it got louder and louder, that a plane or helicopter was about to crash in the field opposite my office!! It was quite frightening. It started to make my ears hurt so I had to go back inside. When it died down I went and asked someone else on site what on earth it was and he explained and said it'd been going on for a couple of days now. Not quite sure why it would be grounded at such a small airfield though?
Sorry to hijack your thread, Tim!
Hope you enjoyed your flight. Fantastic.
Looks like you had a great day. I am sure that everyone on the board agrees with me when I say that you just look Bl**dy fantastic for your age! I can't believe you are the age you are! Goes to show that keeping active, with all your gardening and cooking and everything, it keeps you young!
Tim, you are a hero thanks to you & all the chaps that flew the planes to protect us all. Lovely pictures. The lady leaning against one of the planes was interviewed on our local news. All very interesting i must say.
I hope you really enjoyed your flight. You look exceedingly fit & well at your age.
Bless you Regards Rosebuds = Mary :) :)
If you want noise Samloise, try standing next to an English Electric Lightning on full double re-heat, and try to remember your job is to look for hydraulic leaks ! ! !It's nice to know there are still riggers around with the skills to keep these aircraft in the air for the posers ! ( Ex 74 Squadron Groundcrew) Cheers, Tony.
So right!
Spent more time with a Ground Handler/Engineer/you-name-it there than anyone else.
