Title: Broad Bean seed
Post by: tim on July 23, 2011, 09:46:29
Can one save save beans from current usable size or must one wait until they dry up on the plant?

In passing - out of a whole pick of 'red' ones, there was one white one!

I've saved runner bean pods before now, and ended up with viable seed.

Broad Beans easily cross breed and don't come true... but they will still be Broad Beans. Bowland's Beauty from HSL nearly always has red and green seeds in each pod...  :-\

I'm afraid one must.   They need to store as much goodness as possible to produce good plants next year.     Cheers,   Tony.
