I never new that frogs could let out such a loud squealing noise :o Today at the lottie I was surprised by this loud noise..even the cat that was approaching the frog was surprised about it and looked really confused.
I've heard frog making noise when hurt..but this one wasn't . Cat only touched the frog with its paw..no nails..just gently and as the frog jump after the touch, each time it squealed.
Even I had to join to the cats 'fun'..I touched the frog and same happened. :o
Before the cat got too excited about it I scooped the frog in my hands and took it away to safe hide away. ;)
Has anybody else heard /seen it before?..it was certainly new to me.
when i started the mammoth task of sorting out the back garden a few months back i had a screaming frog. I was sweeping up a load of debry & i didnt know it was in the pile, it soon let me know though!! It was such a horrible noise it actually made me jump & i thought it was o1 of the twins untill i realised it was coming from by my feet.
Cat bought one in last night just as we got to sleep - surprised it didnt wake the whole street up..
I had a blackbird trying to eat a frog on the lottie some years ago and that frog squeeled - that was the first I knew they did that.
Change of creature, sorry, our cat was dive bombed by a blackbird several years ago & she refused to go in the back garden for weeks, when she did it happened again. She started going in the front garden after that.
The bird was probably defending a nest with young. If it was several weeks before the cat came out again, it may well have disturbed the bird while it was feeding its second brood.
