My Charlotte's arrived this morning and the instructions do no mention "chitting" them - I take it that I can plant them as they are. Any comments?
Chitting is always optional, but is really just a matter of letting them sprout while waiting for the soil to warm up in spring. I'd say there's no advantage in doing that for mid summer planting - may as well get them straight in to the soil.

That would have been my follow on question as I've got 20 seed potatoes and i was going to plant them in bags, four per bag and one bag every three weeks to take me into the New Year.
Now is the time to plant. Mine have gone in the lotte green house beds. No need to chit, just plant.
mine will have to go into bags no room in g/house border and have been chitting for over a week now, so must get them in
Mine started on Canada day..1st July.
