It's St Swithin's Day today! Legend says if it rain today, 40 days of bad weather will follow. :o :o
ITS RAINING
A lovely Sunny day here today. 8)
We had a beautiful sunny morning a lovely afternoon but getting cloudy and rain at 6 tonight. That wouldn't be so bad would it the allotment would get watered every evening and it would be lovely and sunny when I went down in the morning ;D ;D ;D

OK lets count the days of rain to see if it is true ;D
rain is just starting
Just starting here.
A few years back some one who knew what they were talking about explained to me that at about the date of St Swithin's Day, the natural alliances of all the weather contributants in the UK did naturally lock into place for about a month.
So, whilst it was attributed to the saint. In truth the weather conditions were in fact a natural occurance.
I understood what I was told but could not repeat it scientifically I do now know that it can be explained scientifically and is not one of those spooky things that religious fanatics choose to keep to them selves as an explanation that they have a link to the god of man kind.
It is just another religious fake contrived to keep man kind under the controll of those who pretend to have a link to the almighty.
I like our legends and folk tales and stuff, religious or otherwise, they're part of our history.
Well it's still raining here!!!!

... not that I'd trust anything the met office says, particularly with regard to the weather!! ;)
Well, it didn't rain here on St Swithin's day but we've had rain every day since - some heavy and long and some just short but heavy showers. I don't mind the rain, in fact I welcome it, but I do wish it was a bit warmer so my squash plants would get to work on producing decent fruits. At the mo they're just growing length and leaves.
The St Swithins thing rings true here, but it IS Manchester! Round courgettes looking lovely, but Turks Turban may be suffering a bit on the squash front. Broadies have been loving the rain, put an extra few in as a bit of a punt and they are starting to produce now, I think the rain is helping!
another downpour here :o
Heatwave today LOL ;D
LOVELY TODAY IN Herefordshire
