Title: Lighter nights
Post by: Mrs Ava on January 31, 2005, 23:50:23
Took daughter number one to swimming club this afternoon, and for the past couple of months we have been coming out at around 5.30pm in the dark.  Not today, dusk yes, but dark, nope!  Ooooo, I can positively smell summer!

Left work a bit early yesterday - had to go to the (boo hiss) supermarket. At 4.30 it was still light. even on such a dull day. Not dusk, but light! And I'm now showering in the morning in daylight! roll on spring!

Its wonderful isn't it??  ;D  I can remember Emma saying the same thing last year... Amazing what you notice on the kids runs to the baths ;) Spring is edging in gently here in North Wales.  The daffs are blooming, all the crocus are out and the lambs have been out in the field next to us since before Christmas,  they are starting to get big now too.  Looking forward to seeing the green haze over the hedgerow as the buds start to appear.  I love the spring.

I notice every night locking up the hens gets later and later, about 2 or 3 minutes every night. Can't wait till we get the warmer weather where there's no more having to put coats on before going outside. And oh to be able to walk outside into the garden without shoes on and not have that squishy mud oozing between your toes and then having them feel like they have frost bite!

Spot on Ina! Can't wait until the evenings are light and we can sit (work?) outside again. I'm certainly suffering but it IS getting better...

Too right Ina! I only get to see my garden three days a week - weekends and Wednesday (when I don't work). At least now I get a glimpse of it when I rush out the door in the morning. But I can't wait to be able to go outside and have a relaxing couple of hours playing in the garden (I don't work out there - it's called pottering or playing, depending on what I feel like! Work sounds far too hard and boring, so I just don't call it that!)

Also I need to stock up my bird table more often now they've found it. But I can't find it after work!

Hurrah for longer days! It's been so depressing this week with no sun!

Once the days are a bit longer, I'll be able to go running in the evenings  :D

Well it's more like really slow jogging!

No no Moggle, forget the running, go digging instead, it's much better exercise and much more fun too  ;D

Great innit? I was out in the garden until 5 pm the other day. Have to quit at 4pm for most of the winter.

Jesseveve - running mon - fri to get rid of the wobbly bits, and digging on the weekends to firm and tone  :) Well that's the plan at the moment any way  ;D

Perhaps once the days are really long I will find time to run and dig after work  ;D

You're making me feel tired thinking about all that exercise  ;D

Was outside till just after 5pm today, filling some pots (well old tin's actually) with soil to sow my parsley and basil in, they're now sitting on my kitchen windowsil nice and warm.

Actually time enough to do some gardening after work while there's still a bit of light! Fantastic!  ;D
