Just got back from a lovely week in Cornwall. We stayed in a cottage with a lovely garden and visited Heligan and Eden- both beautiful and inspiring. Then watched Hampton Court on TV last night. I could just do with another week's holiday to put some of the inspiration into practice! :D
Im envious, we're going in august, my son has just gone for a week, my favourite place is eden ;D
im going to Cornwall in august for the first time and im also going to visit Hegelian and the Eden project
If you have Tesco vouchers you can use them to get your tickets for Eden- we did, saved us £80- order online and they'll come in a few days.
oh which part of cornwall did you come as i live near the eden project in small village of luxulyan
We were in Lerryn- I remember seeing signs to Luxulyan. Lovely area, and nice tobe able to go away outside school holidays for the first time in 20+ years!
oh i love lerryn ive walked all the way up the river near the top is an snack van just right for a cuppa and luxulyan it not too far away
We have just got back from Norfolk, hired a cottage on the broads. Did about 35O miles going to various places. Was amazed how many allotments there are in Norfolk. Before we left yesterday I bought some samphire at a local fish market, It is the first time I have ever tasted this plant, what with the Cromer Crabs we will certainly be going back to this lovely part of the country.
We also had samphire for the first time this week, at a brilliant seafood restaurant in Looe. Apparently samphire has only a 6 week season, not that I thought it was anything special!
I had some in Cambridge in mid-June... it was nice enough but is supposed to be better if fresher... :)
Actually this year in our city's castle grounds (The Chateau des Ducs de Bretagne, in Nantes), they have made a vegetable garden! But a really decorative one, with pumpkins crawling over old wooden carts, beans and cues up big poles, interspersed with flowers etc, it's really beautiful. It's lovely to see right in the middle of town!

Noooo! I was googling to find some but didn't manage to find any! If I go into town this weekend (long weekend, Bastille Day), I will go down into the moat area and take some pics. They have the hugest pumpkin! I can only guess that it is an Atlantic Giant.
