Could be classed as a pest..........arrived at my plot this morning to find my strawberry bed completly bare of the fruit i had gone to pick! Sitting in my shed pondering what could have taken so much fruit so quick, imagine my suprise to hear several voices from the house my plot (separted by a six foot wall) debating whether there was anyone in the allotments, shall we go and see if there are anymore strawberries to pick! Further suprise followed when I heard an adult ask if they wanted a help over the wall............Thieving little ***@$........definatly to be classed as an allotment petst!
I would not be happy >:( if that happened >:(. A chap in his 80s had his French beans stolen last year. He couldn't understand where they were going until one day he arrived to find a rug on the fence. The thief had forgotten to take it off. This is what you could call 'a well healed estate'. I wonder what they'll try for this year now the recession is biting harder? The old gent gave up his full plot & moved to the other side of the site.
....Makes me wonder now if thats where my mysteriouly disapearing garlic went last year,
Thought the kids did run for cover very quickly from the top of thier garden wall when i walked around my shed and coughed!!!!
I found my strawberries were disappearing at weekends. I thought to start with it was the birds, but then found the netting carefully rolled back, so not only did I loose one batch but the birds ate the next set as well.
