- but I just had to share it!
Thought it was rather historic that I had this photo of The Fleet in Poole Harbour, taken from our prep school playing field in 1928. My uncle was the Headmaster.
Going through old letters last w/e, came across the attached, showing every spy our total fleet exactly 100 years ago!! With an invitation to my uncle to 'come aboard' the 6th battleship in the line!!

I've been checking the figures with the 'Royal Naval Battleships' site & the spy would have been well briefed. Sad to see the fate of some of the ships, though. Like sunk off Chile in 1914 etc.
Amazing isn't it, and for me when I think of OH and I heading off in the boat through Poole Harbour last summer (chokka with sailors and sports boats) to Studland Bay and peacful mooring off Old Harry........
and sand in your sandwiches?
Welcome back! = Tim
Of course! Goes with the territory doesn't it? And sarnies don't taste the same without that crunch...
Thanks for the welcome back....looking for new home in the Cotswolds as of now!
