Title: Who said the was a waiting list!(nottingham)
Post by: RenishawPhil on July 01, 2011, 11:15:20
I have a really good allotment surrounded by good hedges in Nottingham and its a lovely big site that's managed by the committee rather then the council

The is quite a few spare plots available at the moment.

Seems odd that some plots have waiting lists of years and you can one here tommorrow if you wanted it

Funny you should mention this as I was driving along the ring road the other day near David Lloyds where there are lots of allotments  and I couldn't help notice how so many must be unused as the trees and bushes surrounding each plot were so over grown that it would be impossible to grow anything due to the light.  They must have been like this for years and yet we have a waiting list.

I work for the council and know first hand of the bureaucracy.  The council probably dont have a b*****y clue whats going on.

Congrats on your plot!

Those Allotments you mention are private ones

Furthermore, they are individually owned so can't be evicted for non-cultivation.
