Wow - one of our school buidings just got zapped. Lightning hit the road and bounced off and has partially destroyed a roof to the DOE building.
Networking down across many buildings, no phones & lots of screaming kids...
Scary. I love watching storms, but not when they are *that* close!
REally really close - but we are very lucky that it was raining and everyone was in doors. Our Junior School would have been blood and bone!!
Our house got hit by lightning once, when I was away. My husband was quite stressed by it and the children were a bit, too. The chimney was destroyed and a few electrical things damaged. The insurance was paid out very promptly and the damage soon fixed, but it took my OH a little longer to get over the shock.
Good luck to everyone involved, particularly any children who have been frightened.
:)
See, even God is getting involved with striking at schools this week. Good on him!
Thank God everyone was ok. Its been bad with lightening here on Canvey Island too. Was convinced our roof was hit as the lightening was that close and the thunder that followed so loud the house shook. Everything fine though. Once good thing came out of it my hen Gemima laid her first egg during the storm :)
Same storm that hit us..

THANK GOD EVERYONE IS SAFE
Well I felt that we had a really close call with the lightening and will google it to find out where it was on Canvey. Hope everyone is safex
Everyone safe and sound here - there may have been a few changes of undies required though ;D ;D - a few collegues were a few meters away from the hit and they were still laughing hysterically several hours later!
The house on Canvey that was hit was in the road infront of me ........so how close was that! Luckily the people and pets are all ok.
your collegues laughing hysterically hours after the event is the bodies way of dealing with shock.
looks like another school did not get off so lightly
