Our third open day on the plots went quite well on Saturday.
About 50% more people turned up and we made a few bob for the site funds from the raffle.
We are considering buying a battery operated strimmer for all to use and keep the plots tidy.
It is judging day in a couple of weeks and considering we have won three times out of the last four years (we were second last year) we are hopeful we might succeed again.
THe new butterfly garden we built last year has developed quite nicely, so I think we are hanging our hat on that for getting first place.

Brilliant pictures - looks like you've got a really friendly, inspirational set up in a gorgeous area - lucky people who live in the houses backing on to the site.

There aren't any!
Plot 16 became vacant a few weeks ago and the couple that took it over have only been on it a week.
Going by the work they have done on it, (although it was not really an overgrown plot) they look as if they mean business.
The young couple that took on plot 13 seem to be quite keen as well.
And yes! the plot holders are all a very friendly lot.
If it wasn't for that I think I might have given up on a number of occasions!

Shhhhhhhhhhh! there is still time for some to rear their heads, things have been a bit dry of late, so perhaps that is what delaying its appearance.

Apparently the Punch was excellent, I didn't have any I was on duty and driving so I abstained.
Although I did manage to scrounge a couple of cans of lager and a few chicken legs to have later when I got home 8)

We don't really have them as we are a private association and a bit pricey so anyone who doesn't work doesn't get to stay! Sometimes plots are more or less cultivated (and going by mine, a bit of a dog's dinner from time to time) but all are actually in use.
