Title: I need help from someone who is good at remembering film titles
Post by: Jeannine on June 27, 2011, 20:25:47
I am trying to track down a movie but can't remember the title. I thought Chris Chrisoftersson was in it but can;t find it in his list.

I saw it in the UK.

Set is a sleepy US town, more or less current day, they find a murdered woman is a sports car out in the middle of knowhere.

This small town has a very low crime rate and everyone assumed it came from the big city.

Then another murdered girl turns up, a local..then a few more. They all have red hair.

The cop in charge is very quiet, he has a deputy, young man with a new baby etc.

Things go as they do and the older cop realises the serial  murderer is the young cop.

The last scene is a very tense one in whuch the yound cop is at home cleaning his gun.

Please please does anyone remember this one.

I have been tracking down movies for some years now, ones I remember from being a child, some I only have a scene in my head but ut is amazing what you find. This one was difficult as I couldn't remember who was in it.

I have another one for you.

This is an oldie.. wartime. Man going off to the navy, he has a daughter approaching teens maybe(not Shirley Temple ) he leaves her in what he thinks is a good foster home but the woman is a drinking, hitting ,abuser who sleeps around. She steals the watch that the girls Dad left here and I think she gets killed in the end by chasing after the girl and falls off a balcony. The only persons face I can rememeber is.. I think... in the Shirley Temple movie The Little Princessr, the girl who gtes her head covered in ashes, I think she is in it,,but not sure.

Another oldie, is from a concentration camp movie I saw as a girl..a baby had been born and the  Dr reached for a syringe and a bottle of something marked"gift"

I have wanted the movie Shirallee for years but ut is not out on DVD, well the newer version is, I have that, but the old one isn't, the one with Alan Ladd.

I have just found the Sundowners which I had serached a bit for.

I get a lot of movies from the UK as my DVD player is now Universal thanks to me hacking it, so I can ger them from anywhere now.

The search goes on..

Must ask.,any old movies anyone may suggest? Or not so old.

I used to buy some of my dvds from Canada, as it was cheaper even with the postage!
The company has since gone bust, I guess they were selling them too cheap.

Please may I use your thread Jeannine for the following.

In the 50s or 60s I was in a Drs waiting room expecting a long wait.  I started to read a story in a Woman's magazine.   I was called in sooner than expected.   At the top of the page it said it was by  a world famous author and has a dramatic end.

The story started with a wealthy pregnant woman picking flowers in her garden.  She sees a red headed  boy go to the back door.  Later she asks the housekeeper what he wanted.  Th housekeeper comments that he was a proper copper thingy.  The women turns pales and goes to the gun room and shoots herself.  The husband is desperate to find out what made her do it.

Anyone have any ideas?
