Title: bet you aint heard this question before.. seeweed
Post by: Jeannine on June 25, 2011, 21:57:22
Ok, I have heard of the excellent properties of seaweed, I have used liquid stuff myself. I saw something advertised as powdered seeweed and wondered..

I buy dried seawwwed for sushi etc, but never use it all quick enough. I have some now.

If I put it through my blender and took it down to powder, I guess I could use it,do you think?

If mixed with water, how much to a gallon do you think?

Ok I warned you it was a odd question.

well a 5% solution means you need 5 grams of seaweed in 100 ml of water. Since the seaweed sheets are hair thin (i use them myself) i suspect you'll need millions to make a gallon of spray, well 225 grams, at least. The packets i have say 10 sheets are 28 grams,  so 80 sheets in a gallon will be a 5% solution by weight, assuming you can get it all to dissolve.

It don't need to be mixed with water..
I use seaweed meal and I make mix with compost and BFB with it and sprinkle the mixture into planting holes for brassicas..and top of the soil for others..
It will works same as liquid..just slightly slower..apparently..
