Title: TOMORITE dilution
Post by: tim on June 19, 2011, 11:42:48
Need a mathematician!

I believe in a  DAILY weak feed for containers. I know my own food ratio but what, please, would it be with Tomorite??

Friend would be applying 3/4-1 litre per day.

Easiest way would be to mix up the 5L standard solution and then take 0.7L of the standard solution to make up to 5L for daily watering

(That's if my brain is working right today)

My bottle says 10ml for 5 litres of H20. Checked it last night for the spuds. :)

Add to all this her method of watering.

Plants are in multi compost in 10" pots sitting in saucers. She gives them about a pint a day, but this mostly runs through into the saucer. It's all absorbed by night, but this is not a good approach? The roots must be unhappy in water all day??

More advice??

Now then dear..you would not be talking about the seaweed I gave you by any chance?
That seaweed is agricultural strenght..3 times stronger than the usual sort you get in shops. I use it by putting a dollop in whole barrel so the water looks like weak tea....or maybe a half a teaspoon per watering can... ;)
Normal type seaweed  is used about 40ml per gallon..me thinks..

I'm saving yours as I have a some left that I bought from the lotty shop on daughters site. I will be using yours soon though. Three times stronger, my oh my, it sounds like rocket fuel. If I fed it to OH would he become jet propelled ;) ;D. ;D ;D
