As some of you will recall I have had some problems with my annual bedding plants so I decided to get rid of my snowdrpos, crocus & daffodils and replace them with perennials.
Here is the progress to date!

Here is what I took out; ( these weighed roughly one and a half hundredweight)

I canabalised my shrubbery to make a heather bed;

I guess I will have to wait at least 12 months to see how it all turns out.
I have a few bedding plant I can put into the gaps to take away the bareness of the scene.
Then in the autumn I will plant out a few snowdrops, crocus & daffodils in the deciduous areas, but there will not be drifts of them as there has been in the past.
So fingers crossed it all works out, only time will tell.
It's always good to have a bit of a change! Although we'll miss seeing your lovely photos of the glorious spring bulbs. ARE YOU GOING TO SELL THEM ON EBAY?
Looking good Tee Gee. It must have been hard work though.
Great - what a big change. I love perennial borders. They just keep getting better every year.
Are you still on the look out for anything? I could send root cuttings of some things - I don't have anything fancy, just mainly the usual suspects like valerian, geraniums, alchemilla etc.
Thanks for your comments haven't been on my PC much lately....too busy with other things.
QuoteARE YOU GOING TO SELL THEM ON EBAY?
No! After I have saved enough for what me and my family need I will probably give the rest away.
No need to sell I think I have had my money's worth over the last 25-30 years I'll let someone else have the pleasure from them.
I will probably take them down to the plots and just let the other plot holders help themselves to them.
QuoteIt must have been hard work though.
Not physically hard work but it was mentally.
Spent a bit of time figuring out what to plant and where.
Will let them grow on for a year or two and then see if any need moving around!

Thank you very much for the offer pigeonseed, I already have some alchemilla & geraniums but the Valerian sounds interesting.
Send me a PM with what you have and I will take it from there.
What I need most of at the moment is some rain its a bit tedious watering manually!
I'll pm you. I got the valerian from a patch of waste ground where they'd pulled down a building. I like to rescue plants ;D
Sadly I can't send you water!
