A man from St johns Ambulance called today wanting to fill out a direct debit form which would debit donations from my bank account on a regular basis. Is this common practice? I think that St Johns do really good work but I would feel uncomfortable giving my bank details to anyone that rings my doorbell.
So the chuggers are knocking on doors now. These people are on a commission to get donations.
Hi Duke :)
He came here too, I was once helped by a St John's knight in shining armour who appeared from nowhere in an accident but still wouldn't give my bank details to someone on the doorstep.

Next time, tell him/her the second word is off. ;D
As taffy said tell em to f##k off. :(
TAFFY? You cheeky scouser you. ;D ;D ;D :P
having done years of both voluntary and paid work for st johns its a blooming cheek, they in some parts of the country some of the richest charities and in one part of Devon had so much they had to end it out to other divisions to stop it being taken by the government. they also earn thousands from the private ambulance work they do yes they do a good job as a charity but i think the business they run with first aid courses etc should fund the volunteer sector
just my humble opinion of course xx
