Title: Net gear router.
Post by: telboy on May 27, 2011, 13:54:42
Hi All,
A netgear router I had for a couple of years failed so I bought a new netgear DGN 1000(N150 wireless ADSL2+modem).
I've had nothing but problems with it - particularly dropping out. I reset the whole procedure but no improvement.
Anyone else had dificulties with this make? I have read in an Amazon forum that another guy has had similar probs. & I also note the price has dropped markedly since I paid £60 for mine.

I use a Thomson, supplied by Plusnet. No problems.

Nothing much wrong with Netgear - I use a lot of thier wireless stuff.
Have you set it up yourself?  It might be worth a check with your ISP as sometimes things like the MTU (max transmission unit) are not set correctly.
Is your service ADSL2+ - if not then your router may not be autosensing the line speed correctly or it may be set wrong.

Hi,

We really struggled with Netgear dropping out and have replaced with a Belkin N+ as we have an extension on our house and the old thick walls weren't helping, everyone is really happy now :) :)
