First time on a very exposed plot, never had to worry about htis before BUT bean canes are rattling all over the place and some have even made their own escape bid - I tend to just wind cheap twine round the verticals and the horizontal, tie off where the string ends and take it from there ..... ?

i use cable ties for mine, the birds take the string of if you use it here and the cable ties are only a couple quid for a pack of 3mm x 100, never had any problems since using them..
also on a windy site ;)
I think looking around at what everyone else does is a good idea.
But as well as string and cable ties, I also tie in some canes along the horizonal to give the structure a bit of stability, only a few mind, a couple at the bottom, then a couple towards the top. I'd also try and get them in the ground nice and deeply for starters :) If you are doing wigwam style ones, just make sure they are firmly in the ground :)

This year for my beans I'm going to get some broom handles and hammer into the ground to attach the cane structure to, it's difficult to rescue the canes later when the plants are attached.
I am on a very windy site and beans canes tend to take off. I put mine in groups of four or six in a wigwam and also use cable ties. Most long runs of canes fall over. I use 4.8 mm x 200mm ones from screwfix. Come in cheery colours.

If you put a small screw driver in the back of them you can undo them and use again.
Once I put in the cane I then wiggle it about and pour water round it and hopefully get it in several more inches and then stamp hard round it.
