My Spencer sweet peas "Charlies Angel"

Lovely... we have buds... :)
my perennial ones are taking over the garden as they do every year, but my annuals are a long way off flowering. I had some "Charlie's angels" seed from a felow a4a member last year and sowed some saved seed oiver winter but lost them all. :(
Ben, if you remove the tendrills and all side shoots (tying the pea to a strong support) you will eventually get four or five blooms per l o n g stalk just as the exhibishionist do. When the pea reaches the top of the 'cane' unwind it coil it up on the ground and start it up the cane again. :o Cheers, Tony.
mine have started now, purples so far ;D
look great in contrast to the irises.
Beautiful flowers just wished they were not so attractive to those little black bugs
First time ive tried sweet peas & im a little concerned knowing that some of you guys already have flowers. Mine r about 15cm tall @ the mo & from what i can tell they r miles away from flowering. Any advice would b good :) Where would i find perennial seeds?? Ive heard they are like rocking horse s*%t to find.
We are on our third cut... and most are only a foot tall... so not long now "twins"
we have some perennials... that give seed each year... if you want some.. no scent though! :-\

Ooo yes please Saddad, i want some things that will just keep growing year after year & look really nice. I saw somewhere that you should pinch out the top to encorage branching when they r about 10cm tall, i did this on a few of them but the leaves went white, should i do it & should that happen?
Lovely colours.
Sowed mine in loo rolls this year and terrible growth since planting out. Chap's on plot next to me planted out at same time and now about 5 times bigger. Tried to water well but guess not enough without free root run.
YAY!!! ive finally got some flowers :0)) They started a few weeks back, they dont rush do they??? But they are sooooo worth waiting for, im a sweet pea addict now & will be planting hundreds of them next year :)
