Title: What to grow in previous onion bed?
Post by: Greenqueen on May 16, 2011, 15:51:10
Hi
I have just harvested my very first onions and I am wondering what would be suitable to grow in the raised bed they were in?
Is there anything that is known to grow particularly well in a 'previously onion' bed?
Thanks

You can slip onions in anwhere in a rotation system, so almost anything will grow there afterwards.  My rotation is pots legs roots onions bras.

I often use the onion bed for leeks and other autumn crops such as late cabbages or kale or pak choy. I often give it a little rest first, and put in some compost etc.
