Title: lawn mower blade height control
Post by: tomatoada on May 09, 2011, 10:42:17
I am planing to buy a small rotary mower.   It would be good to be able to adjust the cutting height with a lever, but did I read somewhere you could have problems with it sticking?   Anyone with advice on small electric mowers?   Thanks.

I've not used electric, but the small petrol ones I've used have levers on each wheel so you can adjust the cutting height. I would have thought if they did get stuck it would just be a case of a bit of wd40 & a bit of persuasion.  :-\

If you can, go for one with a single lever that adjusts all four wheels - much, much easier than doing each wheel in turn. We've got a Hayter Spirit for the Society. It's pricey, but brilliant. No problems with the lever sticking at all.

Thanks for replies.  Going to look at a Hayter Envoy tomorrow or Thursday in Stratford. I will remember the wd40 trick.   Thanks again.
