Title: Comfrey for slugs
Post by: caroline7758 on May 08, 2011, 14:48:13
For anyone who missed GW on Friday, Monty Don recommended spreading comfrey leaves around plants so that the slugs eat the comfrey rather than the plants. I'm certainly going to try it now the ground is damper and the slugs will be back.

Hmm..I do spread comfrey leaves on ground as mulch all the time..never noticed that our slugs would be partial for them.. :-\ I'll have to watch GW and see what he is talking about...

I thought that slugs did not like comfrey very much.  I have found that potatoes milched with comfrey seem to have fewer slug problems.
