I use the comfrey on Toms and peppers and the nettle on greens (cauli's etc)

I spray nettle tea on my golden delicious apple tree, it used to get problems with mildew on the leaves and I beleive that this seems to stop it.

There was a school of thought that said that brassicas sprayed with nettle has fewer caterpillars it is supposed to confuse the butterflies but I have not noticed any difference.

I give comfrey to strawberries and potatoes they are supposed to like the high potash content.   I put comfrey leaves round some of my potatoes last year and was pleased by the lack of scab and slugs.  But I have only done it once so it might be just a coincidence.  They are supposed to taste better but I could not tell the difference.

Otherwise I use them as a general fertilizer and pick me up.  I am not convinced though that beans like the comfrey I think they prefer the nettle.

I do seem to have a lot of copper coloured beetles crawling about in them this year, never seen that before.

I just bung them in the huge water butt and then when ever I water I know that they will help.

They are a 'general fertiliser'

Meaning I have never heard that their addition to water is going to adversely effect any other plant
