Title: black bits on winter beans
Post by: diver on January 22, 2005, 15:52:59
please can someone HELP !...I am new to this...I got my lottie in June and have spent ages digging out the couch grass etc.....and as my first crop I put in over wintering broad beans.....the fellas on the allotments told me what to do....I had put lime on and blood and bone ..and now my little plants are about 4 or 5 inches tall...but many of them are turning black at the edges of their leaves ....any idea what it is ..is it frost....will they recover or is it some terrible disease.....???? all advice gratefully received,

Most likely a touch of frosting, should not be a problem and they will be fine I suspect.

If really worried cover them with a bit of fleece.
