Title: Help me lettuce and beetroots are taking over the world

ok, when picking out lettuce seedling, how much picking out do you do, ie...1 every cm or what? and would it be the same with beetroot? :-\

I usually plant close, take out every other one to eat small and leave the others to get bigger, I also plant up a trough with them very close and use as cut and come again , love lettuce, us  ;D

I planted my Beetroot seeds in a 6 x 7" tub in the greenhouse then pricked them out when they were about 4" high and planted them in 2 raised beds about 4" apart,now I have 120 beetroot just waitin to fatten up with no further thinin  ;)
