Title: soft egg shells

one of the hens has started to lay eggs with very very soft shells that i find broken everyday, i dont know which hen it is, they have layers pellets and plenty of grit, all the girls look fine is this usual or could one of them be ill ???

Yes it does happen and doesn't mean that someting is wrong...often these things sort themselves out ;)
But you could get some extra oyster shell 'grit' that would add extra calcium to their diet and dandelion leaves..another calcium source.
It could well be that one girl is just not getting her share..maybe it is the one on bottom of the pecking order.
I know is sounds bit odd...but if you have some 'dog ends' of cheese in your fridge...well they will love it and it will add another dimension to calcium source..when I give some to mine I just crumble it amongst the corn and it slows the greedier ones down giving slower ones chance to find few bits too;)
