Title: Can you help ID this woodland flower

Saw this in a wood in Kent..
Seems to be a flower growing directly out of the ground - is it a ferm of some sort??

Can you help ID this woodland flower

it's the common toothwort, a parasitic plant on hazel

Good find and not very common at all.  It doesn't hang around long when it flowers and my local patch has seemingly disappeared, or I just can't find it!
