special offer and free p&p with code
GWRW
Thanks, i was wondering what to plant in the extra space on the end of my potatoe bed ;D
Thanks from me too. Sounds a real bargain. I have managed to "tame" a piece of ground earlier than expected because of the good weather. So 20 spud are ideal.
I love a bargain, I've ordered some even though I'm not sure where I'm going to be able to put them yet!! But for a £1 I couldn't resist!!!
Has anyone tasted them please & what was the verdict?
Very tasty potato and they make wonderful mash ;)
Sarpo Mira (late maincrop) are also £1 for 20 tubers.
Ordered these and 20 Blue danube with free delivery. Thanks for excellent info.
I tried but it charged pp, so how did you do it Mickstani. ???
There are two special code boxes on the summary page. You need to put the GWRW code into the top box.
Gone up to £2 now - I got some at £1 - thanks for the tip ;D
Thanks, Davidberry. I've just placed an order. The spuds are now priced at £2, but with free postage, it's still a good offer.
Thanks, everyone, for continuing to post the latest bargains - always appreciated, even if I don't take advantage, every time.
:)
Cheers Davidberry, I was putting the code in the bottom box, £1 for Sarpo Mira 20 tubers, job done and good spot Macmac. ;)
Ooh, thanks- at that price I can bung them into a piece I've dug roughly and didn't plan to plant in this year!
Can't get the code to work- it's charging me p&P :(
There are two boxes for codes - in the 1st one labelled "Enter catalogue or newspaper code:" enter the code and postage disappears !!
How did you get on Caroline, I tried to send you a PM but your inbox is full.
Thanks, Kev and Herring! Got it now. ::)
Really pretty flowers on the Blue Danube but what is it like for taste,
Is it better than "Salad Blue" or just a synonym (?) :-\

Not like Salad Blue at all, Danube is just blue skinned with white flesh, Salad Blue has blue flesh...
Danube bake nicely from my memories of having a few in last year....
Has anyone got their Blue Danube potatoes yet? They took the payment from my bank but they haven't arrived yet
I started this thread and ours haven't arrived yet.
I'm no lawyer but I understand that as they've taken payment they've entered a contract to supply these goods at the set price (£1) and much thanks for pointing out the amazing offer initially
I can't take credit as another different forum (M.S.E.) member posted the link :)
I'm still waiting for my Sarpo Mira. :-\
Thanks Grawc- but I paid £2 >:(--- :) :) :) Never mind you can't take it with you!
Not that I need them but can give some away :-X

I'm still waiting for my Sarpo Mira. :-\
mine turned up on Wednesday and went straight in....
I am still waiting for my Blue Danube potatoes :'(
My Sarpo Mira came on Tuesday and I've put some in, 21 spuds for a quid not bad for T&M. ;D ;D ;D
i'm not happy :'(,t&m sent me a letter on sat to say very sorry, but they wouldn't be able to fulfill my blue danube order as they were out of stock due to the weather?
oh well,better luck next time.
any other letters like this?
mine have just arrived and are nice looking tubers. :)
My blue danube & sarpo mira arrived today also, 19 days after ordering.
Mine also arrived today - thanks again macmac for pointing this out all - also well done T&M for fulfilling the order - they must have lost plenty on this
ooh blimey ;D
got home today and parcel on doorstep,my blue danube had turned up (yet had a letter from t&m to say they couldn't fulfil order)?????
wonderful.
I arrived home to a card thro' the door saying a parcel had been left over my side (6ft) gate but no sign of a parcel. Did yours come with the carrier Yodel? I phoned and they said they would ring me back in 48hrs. Most annoyed.
my danube arrived yesterday, had been left in greenhouse. just have to get them in the ground now if i can find room :P
Mine arrived yesterday too!
Got mine today too. :)
still waiting :)
Got mine and the Sarpo Mira on Tuesday. Shared the Blue Danube ones with a friend and planted the rest, now need to find room for the Sarpo Mira. Will give some to the school group to plant in a currently unallocated space on their plot and think I may have to use the rest as a second crop when I take my first earlies up
I don't think T&M will make a loss on selling these at this low price, they will have fulfilled all full price orders and what's left they have reduced. The alternative for any supplier on items they don't sell is to dump - and then they have to pay to do that! (We used to get surplus eggs free at our allotments, the producer had a contract to supply a certain regular amount to a large supermarket, anything over he wasn't allowed to sell elsewhere so had to pay to dump them - until he found us!)
Mine arrived 20 tubers of Blue Danube and 30 of the Sarpo Mira! Really chuffed. All planted now.
I thought I'd been "done" as they do not look Blue at all but a quick wash under the tap! :-[
Is it worth chitting them or should I just bung them in at this late stage?

I had the same thoughts when mine arrived - I decided to put them in ??
Got mine yesterday.
I too thought not very blue. Never thought of washing them. Thanks PKL.
Putting them in as soon as rain permits. It will be interesting to see how they do.
These did brilliantly for us last year! Good crop and stored very well. Made nice mash and chips...
Have you seen much progress with these - I put mine in around a month ago and only one has broken through above earth.
Mine are mostly just through. 3 are still to apppear.
Mine have been in about a month too. They do seem quite slow but they are all through now.
Duke
Planted mine a spit deep and all through 4 weeks later. Been earthing them up this morning.
How are yours doing? Mine are flowering madly despite being in a poo patch and competing with phacelia and various weeds. hope they are as good underneath as on top!
Mine are flowering too ..... a lovely purple flower. :D
