this was the chicken pot pie I made yesterday, I would call it how to stretch your $, or should I say GBP/pound
the chicken was 1 of 6 bought on special at at $5 each about 3 pound each , not big but not bad,,,,,
from which we 2 of us had roast sunday in the clay baker, cold on mon pie tues and wed,,,,,,,
the pie was puff pastry,,
bite size piece of cooked chicken,,, 1 can cream chicken soup, 1/2 cup gravy made from the roast, with chopped celery, leek, carrot, asparagus and 1 potato and a couple shallots.. this was it...

It looks smashing, well done.
By the way, I haven't forgotten your blackberry cuttings, was waiting fior Spring but we are all under water mostly here, it is so wet we cannot get to the lotties and so no chance for the hedgerows either.. I haven't given up though.

Yes it is one of the things we can do when short of money.
Add pastry, dumplings or a suet crust and a lot of sauce or gravy Thickened of course with even more carbohydrate.
It will taste good and the addictive element of wheat will be ignored because it is cheap food to fill the bellies of the proletariat who will be satisfied by having their bellies filled and their need for their wheat addiction forfilled
Zigzag.....that was deep :-\
