Not from seed is it Tony?  Did you know the japanese and chinese varieties twist in different directions - can't tell you which is which though.

How long did it take? Mine has got leaves but as yet no sign of flowers, this is it's 3rd. year

it's about 15 yr old.

@poppy mole, have you pruned your wisteria?

Mines about 3 years old too and it hasn't flowered yet but I'm just wondering if I saw buds today. Of course it could just be a clematis wandering through..... ::)

Yes please.  Mine flowers at the ends and it getting longer and more straggly.  Flowers ok.  Bought it in flower and it flowers every year.  Really want to encourage it to sprout further down the stem.  Rather pretty white one.

wisteria should be prunes twice per year, in late summer to remove a lot of the growth, and in winter to encourage flowering.
