Title: Info needed..Batun multiplier onion seed
Post by: Jeannine on April 07, 2011, 03:15:13
Hi, can someone please tell me more about this one.

It was in my onion stash, I think it came from the last parcel swap .

I can't find any info although the baggie says it came from HSL.

I would really appreciate the info.

From 2009 catalogue

A Russian variety. 'Luk Batun' when translated means  bunching or Welsh onion (Allium fistulosum). The onions form clumps, similar to multiplier onions, of thumb-sized, purple tinged, crescent shaped bulbs. The mild flavour makes the bulbs ideal for salads, soups and stir fries.100 seeds.

Wow, thank you so much, that is just perfect.

I presume that makes them perennial.
