Title: Strange noises in the attic
Post by: queenbee on April 06, 2011, 22:40:45
Please forgive me for asking about a non allotment subject, I assured my OH that someone on A4A would know the answer to why when we flush the toilet it sounds like a train is passing through our attic. Could this be an expensive job and will I have to sell my computer to pay for it. It scares our visitors and they are too embarrassed to mention it. HELP!!!!

If you have a header tank in the attic, it could be the ballcock valve 'jumping' a new washer will sometime sort it out 50p at the most.  A tenner for a complete ballcock valve. It might only be a long length of pipe that needs clipping in, best to check as the vibration will loosen a joint after a while. Then you will have to get a new computor when it gets flooded along with everything else.
