Has anyone started theirs off yet?
No, not yet Shirl. I'll be sowing mine in the second week of May.
Have you started yours yet?
Not yet. Will have to move a load of stuff into the other GH before I sow anything else.
Apart from that I need to have a clear head when I sow courgettes and squash, otherwise I will sow far too many.
I'm holding back for a couple of more weeks as well, but I know what you mean about a clear head Shirl, shame I didn't have it when I was sowing my tomatoes :D

What's the matter with us Ten? I'm going to end up with about 100 plants of ten different varieties when my husband really only likes Sungold!
I'm getting a bit worried now , started my squash, courgette and cue last week , and they are all showing ( heated GH 5x10 lean-to) guess i will be buying cloches. :-\
I have found that they are just as successful when I direct sow, so I will be putting them out under plastic bottles around May 1.
This year will be sowing some ordinary green courgettes, yellow ones (I like those), some sunbeam pattypan squash and someone gave me seeds for those Serpenti courgettes, the long skinny ones!! Also putting in this year butternuts, qld blue, turks turban and I got some Atlantic giant for free but I am wondering where I am going to put that!!
I am trying cucumbers this year! It's the first time for those! Here in France I am lucky that I can grow all this outside!
just transplanted my cougettes from the prop, cucumbers are in 5" pots , however, cucs will be grown in the poly ;D
squash will wait until the melons are transplanted
Some of my courgettes are well up, so I gues they will go in the greenhouse for a while. im hoping the nice weather will stay
As a result of green mould growing on the soil surface of my brassicas in the GH I am going to wait until the end of April. The GH gets very hot so I water frequently but then when a cold day comes, the mould grows.
Brassicas all planted out now in the hope that they wont be affected. Also need the room for all my squash as I have never grown as many as I will be doing this year, some 20 varieties

that made me laugh Squash, I'm trying some new varieties this year so it's wait and see what the "verdict" is later in the year :) I'm desparately trying to get rid of them at the moment (germination was higher than anticipated ::) ) so far I've found a few homes for them, the rest will have to go to the plant sale :)
At least two weeks yet for me....
Yup, squashes, cukes, courgettes; all nicely out in the greenhouse growing nicely. ;D
Set mine around 4 weeks ago, must be too cold still, nothing showing yet. :( Been hot today though so might get a spurt on now :)
mine are started already too.my impatience isnt helped by remembering last year we had the first courgettes by far out of anyone. There was cloches, there was bubble wrap, there was so much TLC it was daft!
I've sown some, a few days ago. I'm planning to cloche them if they're too big to stay indoors before the weather warms up.
I'm impatient this year. I think having my dodgy hand and not working as hard as normal has made me restless! ::)
planted mine this weekend, they are in a heated propagater so should be up in a few days time.
Just done mine :) I have planted the seed into small peat pots (5cm diam) so that i can keep them going for a while if the weather does not play ball :) Sown 6 courgettes and about 20 pumpkin and squash plants...
I've had best results from mine when sown 4 weeks before they can go out - so about late April/early May.
I might try a few early courgettes to see if I can get an early crop and protect them well.
End of the month for me, or maybe the beginning of next. I don't want them getting potbound. Meanwhile I haven't started the beans yet.
Mine have been going for a couple of weeks but I'm way down south; I'm gonna put them, my beans and my achocha out mid-april before I go on holiday for a couple of weeks and hope. If they get caught I can always try again early may.
I will aim for last week of this month, if they go out too early here I find the windy days really hamper them. ;D
I'll probably be starting mine off within the next couple of weeks. I have more seeds than I have room for so I'm going to have to make a decision on what varieties to grow. I have 3 butternuts, 3 patty pans, goldrush courgette and a round Italian courgette that I can never remember the name of to choose from. I also want to try and get at least 1 blue moon pumpkin in as the girls love the idea of having a blue pumpkin on halloween ;D
I think it's going to have to be 1 or 2 varieties of butternut and patty pan as I've never grown them before and possibly miss the round courgette for this year as I'm definately growing the goldrush (I like the slightly nutty taste).

try living by the coast (or next door to an Jerusalem Artichoke eating neighbour ::) ) That's why I'm going to TRY and wait to sow later this month...... but it's just sooooo tempting .....
