Title: Peach tree
Post by: anemone on April 05, 2011, 20:26:07
I thought my peach tree had died over the winter but there is one little branch that has 2 leaves and a blossom on so it looks really sad but we'll see what happens.

There is also a new branch growing really near to the ground below the graft, is this a 'bad' thing and should it be cut off?

If the branch is growing below the graft then it is the rootstock, not the grafted peach that is growing, depending on what was used as the root stock it could be anything!

I always cut off any shoots from below the graft. Sounds like you may have lost the peach, sorry.

Thanks. I've chopped of the low growing branch, so just have the two little leaves left now.
