I planted some cherry tree prunings in pots in the winter and they have rooted.
They are now flowering. :)
Are they likely to grow into a proper tree, or will just be a branch?
As far as I know, unless you graft it onto a named root stock, they will grow into the colossal trees that have been grubbed out in most of Kent, in favour of smaller trees. I miss the huge Kent cherry orchards of 40 years ago, but I do understand they were difficult to manage and pick.

Hmm.... I'll have to think about this too.... I bought a couple of cherry trees over the winter, one of them (some German name I'm not able to pronouce) has thrived in its pot and will be planted out soon, the other (a Stella) I thought had died... but a couple of days ago as I was about to dump it through the shredder I noticed that it was sprouting from under the graft......... Maybe I could graft a piece from the once that survived onto the the graft stump.... or possibly use cuttings from the stump of the stella to grow new grafting rootstocks.... though I don't know why I should bother... once cherry tree will be enough and I have a pair of Morello's trained as fans in the garden too so I don't need it for pollination...... hmm.....
