Hi everyone
I have been given seeds of both Czar and Sunbright. I've checked them out on the Internet, and to be honest am not at all sure about either of them.
Sunbright has, in its favour, a late maturing, so could be grown for a late crop. Czar seems to have not a lot going for it.
Should I give either of them houseroom, and what does everyone consider the easiest and most prolific runner to grow otherwise.
Thanks for any help forthcoming.
Caro
I have grown Sunbright a few times, it is not as vigerous as the less decorative runner beans, but cropped ok and lasted until the first frosts, main plus is that it looked good all the way through the summer. It has quite distinctive limey looking foliage (got fed up with people saying "there is something wrong with those beans......"), and just about covers 6' so behaves itself and does not overcome a teepee or trellis. I am growing it again this year! ;D
Sunbright did not crop well with me in Glasgow, so I no longer bother with it.
We all have our fav,s but I like white lady string less perfect bean wash top and tail and slice from thefirst to the last. They set well in all conditions, and in warm weather there is no worrying about watering all the time :) Some times reading to much takes your mind off what you really like put ten sticks of each and try for your self we all differ in our tastes ;D
