New garden nothing in it and i thought it would be nice to plant some snowdrops. My question is has anyone bought these in the green on the net and where?
Twoflower :)
yes, from ebay ;D
I've bought several times from Eurobulbs..I usually buy them by 100's and generally very few fail.
I normally pay around £7-£9 per 100 or if you really go for it and buy in larger quantity..per tray..then it is even cheaper.
Any half decent garden centre will only sell Snowdrops and Lily of the Valley in the green as they are ( supposedly ) so difficult to grow from corms.
There are all sorts of places selling them in the green; try google. It's not really good for them unless you're replanting straight away; they take about two years to recover fully. However, they do recover. The bulbs can't take drying, so dessicated things in packets will be badly weakened if not dead. There are specialists who sell freshly lifted bulbs in autumn; this is ideal, but more expensive.
