Title: Potato Question
Post by: Two Choices on March 31, 2011, 11:42:11
I have a bag of lovelly small potatoes from the supermarket that I forgot were in my garage. They are now 'chitting' and I was wondering if I could plant them and whether they would crop?

Last year I planted supermarket spuds that had sprouted & I had a great crop, no blight & hardly any slug damage,no wireworm etc :)
Its not something I would make a habit of & I wont plant spuds in that area again for a couple of years just to be on the sfae side.  But I reckon its ok every now & again. jane

I've also done it in the past, and they have been fine, it's just a matter of accepting the risk of possible disease but that should be really low
