Post by: Mr Smith on March 22, 2011, 19:51:20

           I  have been successful  with the seeds I have had off E-Bay in the past, but have any of you had Beetroot, Carrots or Brassica seeds off E-bay with any success, I saw an advert for 600 Beetroot seeds for 99p :)

have always been a little wary with ebay seeds,as when i first purchased,ordered thyme and got lobelia(what a shock)however;
if you go www.gardenbymail.co.uk you'll find prices from 19p a packet.

The big ebay outlets like premier and midland are generally very good.... I've had Hispi cabbage seeds from them and several types of brussel and had good germination (100% on the Hispi's, near it on the brussels), even though the seed was kept a year.... also had decent beets, not grown any carrots from them thoguh...

I am using Premier Seeds too. The actual quality of the seed compared to others of the same kind look better and I have had no trouble with germination at all.Just let the blooming things get too leggy but thats my fault.
